A simple step-by-step guide to install and customize your new website
Whether you’re using the Skincare, Yoga, or Coaching theme, this guide will walk you through how to get your site up and running quickly – no technical experience required.
1. Install the Required Themes
Install the GeneratePress Parent Theme
- From your WordPress Dashboard, go to Appearance > Themes > Add New.
- Search for GeneratePress.
- Click Install, then Activate.
This is required for your child theme to work.

Upload and Activate the Child Theme
- Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme.
- Upload the ZIP file you received (e.g.,
coaching-theme.zip,yoga-theme.zip, orskincare-theme.zip). - Click Install Now, then Activate.

2. Install Recommended Plugins
After activating the theme, a message will appear recommending some plugins. These include:
- Beaver Builder Lite – Page builder used to design and edit your content
- WordPress Importer – For importing demo pages and posts
- Widget Importer & Exporter – For importing sidebar and footer widgets
- reSmush.it Image Optimization Plugin – For compressing, resizing and optimizing your images
To install:
- Click Begin installing plugins.
- Install and activate each one.

3. Import Demo Content
Import Pages and Posts
- Go to Tools > Import.
- Click WordPress (install importer if prompted).
- Upload the file
xml/demo-content.xmlfrom your theme folder. - Assign authors and check the “Download and import file attachments” box.
- Submit.

Import Widgets (optional)
Available only for the Skincare Theme.
- Go to Tools > Widget Importer & Exporter.
- Upload the file
xml/widgets.wie.

4. Set a Static Homepage
- Go to Settings > Reading.
- Choose “A static page.”
- Set the imported page Home as the Homepage.
- Set the imported page Blog or Articles as the Posts Page.

5. Customize Your Site
Site Identity
- Go to Appearance > Customize > Site Identity.
- Set your Site Title, Tagline, Logo, and Site Icon (Favicon).
Colors and Fonts
- Go to Appearance > Customize > Colors to edit site-wide color settings.
- Go to Appearance > Customize > Typography to customize fonts.
Set a Menu Button
(Available for Yoga and Coaching themes) To style one of the menu items as a button:
- Go to Appearance > Menu.
- Set your menu as Primary Menu.

- Click on Screen Options, then make sure CSS Classes is checked

- Expand the menu item you want to turn into a button, then add the text menu-button into the CSS Classes field

6. Customize Rows and Modules in Beaver Builder
Add a Background Image or Color to a Row
- Hover over any row in Beaver Builder and click the wrench icon.
- Go to the Style tab.
- Under Background, choose:
- Color – Choose a solid color.
- Photo – Upload or select an image.
- Video – Paste a video URL or upload a file.

Add an Overlay
- Toggle Overlay to ON in the same Style tab.
- Choose an overlay color and adjust opacity.

7. Style Your Content with Custom Classes
In any Beaver Builder module, go to Advanced > Class and add any of the already defined classes. Check out your theme’s Styles page to see the full list of classes available.

8. Round Corners and Borders on Images (No Custom Classes Needed)
To manually round image corners and add borders in Beaver Builder:
- Click on the Image Module > Style tab.
- Scroll to the Border section.
- Set:
- Border Radius – e.g.,
10pxto round the corners. - Border Width – e.g.,
1pxor2px. - Border Style – choose solid, dotted, or dashed.
- Border Color – match your theme’s palette.
- Border Radius – e.g.,
These settings are available per image and do not require custom CSS.

9. Customize Widgets
You can set the number of footer widgets to display on your site under Customize > Layout > Footer.

To modify the content of the widgets:
- Go to Appearance > Widgets.
- Add content to Footer Widget 1, 2, 3, etc.

Sidebar Widgets
- Still in Appearance > Widgets, find the Right Sidebar or Blog Sidebar.
- Add, remove, or reorder widgets.

10. How to Create a Landing Page
A landing/sales page is already included in the theme demo content. To create a new clean, distraction-free landing page:
- Go to Pages > Add New.
- Give your page a name.
- In the Page Attributes panel, set Template: Landing.
- Publish the page.
- Click Launch Beaver Builder to begin editing.

When ready to go live:
Make sure you set your site to be visible to search engines from Settings > Reading > Search Engine Visibility, uncheck “Discourage search engines from indexing this site“.
